Thinline LED lights.

Years ago, myself, Mike Kruse and Ty Thuelen worked to create a new kind of tail light. Necessity is the mother of invention and we needed to fix something on the enclosed cargo trailers that I manufactured back then. I wanted to put tail lights in the tail of a cargo trailer without having to put them in the ramp doors, where they always inevitably got damaged, but I also didn't want to narrow up the door opening in the rear of a cargo trailer since that limited what you could load in and out of one.

So, we set to work and created a totally new tail light. I nick named it the Thinline.. because it was only about an inch wide and nearly 13 inches long to pass federal reflector and luminescent laws. Long story short... 6 months from an idea to a finished item and it worked like a charm on enclosed trailers.

Then I thought about where else we could use them and we started fitting them on the tails of our tilt open trailers for awhile... until the NHTSA sent a letter saying that they didn't like that design. So, we planned to pull the design and wait for certification. Then the bank crash came and we scrambled and finally sold the company and moved on.

Now, after much paperwork and government certification, we now have a complete NHTSA compliant thinline tail light setup as an option on our MT and ET tilt trailers once again. Take a quick tour of this nice little red 18MT tilt we built for a customer and then decide if you love the Thinline LED option on your next tilt as much as I do.


THIS is what I mean by thinline LED tail lights. By snuggling them up in the tail of the trailer, we eliminate the side tail light pods, clean up the looks of the trailer, put the tail lights in a protected area and just make it look pretty darn good. When you order an MT or ET, you get these cool looking little honeys in the mix automatically. See those strange little slots on the top of the tail section in between the lights? WE put those there so you can drop a strap hook or chain hook in and tie directly backwards to the tail of  the trailer... they are included in any thinline LED tail light option... your welcome.


Custom built for our friend and customer Rob Maroc, This 18MT tilt is pretty well the trend for guys that want a pretty basic 18 tilt with all of the nice stuff. This unit has thinline LED tail lights, optional rub rails on the stake pockets, optional removable fenders, and std 8k dropleg jack , optional red paint color and an optional electric winch mount plate. Should be a sweet little hauler for years to come.


What's the first big advantage to an 18MT tilt? How about the fact that you just tilt it up and load?


Just unlatch the bed from the tongue with the two spring loaded pins, set your hydraulic jack to lift and pump it up! It took me 42 seconds to go from down to fully tilted when I tilted this unit.


Can you load your car on that incline? If you can, then this may be the trailer you've been looking for.


Rob knew that he might haul darn near anything, so he chose to put on the $100 removable fender option. This makes it so you can just pop the hold downs loose on either end of the fender and lift it off. Simple.


Just like that! When you need your fenders out of the way, this is the easiest way to ensure that you can do that with a minimum amount of hassle.


Another great option that Rob picked is the rub rail option. For a measly $90, on 18' long trailer we will weld on these thick steel flat bars across the stake pockets in front of and behind the fenders to allow you a ton more options for tying down in the future.


Other than the cool $100 red paint option, I also agreed with Rob when he chose to look forward and have us mount one of our super strong electric winch mount plates for $100. I know that may sound a little stiff, but trust me... this thing is strong and it will take whatever winch you choose to mount to it down the road.


Just to make sure that you new guys understand what all comes on one of these units, here is the std 2 5/16" coupler, battery brake breakaway system, the tilt jack assembly, dual locking safety chains, wire harness with 7 prong plug and the standard 8,000lb dropleg jack set back in the tongue for more tailgate clearance.


All in all I think the picked the perfect MT tilt... Me? I'd do it in a 20' model just to make sure I could haul anything, I would do it in the 9,990lb trim for $650 and... well... I'd have done it in the ET tilt because I am truly lazy and like pushing a button to tilt the bed up.
